The Federal Service for Accreditation is a national GLP monitoring authority.

Inspections of test facilities are subject to “The Rules of Recognition and Assessment of Conformity of test facilities to the Principles of Good Laboratory Practice in Accordance with the Respective Principles of Good Laboratory Practice of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development” adopted by Governmental Decree of the Russian Federation No. 1227 on September 20, 2019.

First and foremost, the establishment of GLP laboratories in Russia and their recognition abroad eliminate the need for domestic exporters to order costly tests in foreign laboratories.

Today, Russia has all the necessary infrastructure for conducting studies, the results of which can be used by Russian and foreign manufacturers worldwide in order to confirm the safety of components and materials that their products made from.

International GLP Conformity Recognition Certificates awarded to several Russian laboratories by the Slovak National Accreditation Service (SNAS) establish conditions for the results of non-clinical tests conducted by those laboratories to be recognized in the OECD member countries.

There is a GLP Coordination Center established at the National Institute for Accreditation of RusAccreditation in order to implement the GLP principles in Russia. The Center’s main task is to develop the GLP system in Russia. The Center’s activities aim to provide Russian laboratories with new opportunities related to non-clinical testing of export-oriented products.
