On April 16, 2018, the Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (PAC) officially announced the inclusion of the Federal Service for Accreditation among its members. The relevant information is available on the PAC website. The work on joining the PAC was conducted by the Service in accordance with the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of June 27, 2017 No. 1339-R. The Official announcement of the accession of RusAccreditation according to PAC common practice followed the positive results of voting of PAC members held in October 2017, and the completion of a number of technical procedures. With the accession of RusAccreditation, the number of full members of PAC increased to 34 (4 members more have status of the associate members).
PAC brings together the accreditation bodies from 27 countries in Asia and the Pacific Region, including PRC, India, Iran, Japan, Singapore and the United States. Besides RusAccreditation, the international organization composed of two representatives of the CIS countries, the National Centre of Accreditation (Kazakhstan) and the Kyrgyz Centre of Accreditation.
The main objective of the PAC is to ensure the representation of interests of economies of Asian and Pacific countries in the field of the accreditation of certification bodies and the related areas in line with fulfilling tasks set before APEC, WTO and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF).
