Deputy Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Aleksander Litvak participated in the meeting of the senior officials of the accreditation bodies, the participants of the Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC) and the Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (PAC) on the implementation of a new version of international standard of ISO / IEC 17011 “Conformity assessment. General requirements for accreditation bodies that accredit conformity assessment bodies” held on March 2nd 2018 in Singapore.
The participants of the meeting which was organized with the support of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) exchanged their views on crucial issues on the adoption of the new version of the standard by the accreditation bodies represented by them. The particular consideration was given to the practical implementation of the new requirements in the activities of the accreditation bodies, the problem of training uniformity of the accreditation bodies’ specialists and the international experts carrying out the conformity assessments for the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF). According to the plan of the adoption of the new version of the standard, which was approved by the resolution of the joint meeting of the General Assembly of ILAC and the IAF in October 2017 in Vancouver, Canada, starting from July 1, 2018, all conformity assessments within these organizations will be carried out in compliance with the new version of the standard to ensure the completion of the adoption process by November 2020.
