Head of RusAccreditation Alexey Khersontsev and Deputy Head Sergey Migin took part in the work of the CIS Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification held on the 8th of December in Moscow Region.

Delegations from 8 countries: the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, Bureau of Standards and the Eurasian Economic Commission attended the event.

The following issues were discussed during the meeting: cooperation of the CIS member states in the field of technical regulation, interstate standardization and metrology, conformity assessment, accreditation, and supervision over compliance with technical regulations. Further steps to signing the necessary agreements were undertaken. Special attention was paid to the distribution of documents on interstate standardization.

The Head of RusAccreditation informed representatives of the national accreditation and standardization bodies of the CIS countries about the forthcoming publication of the new edition of the international standard GOST ISO/IEC 17011-2016 "Conformity assessment. General requirements for accreditation bodies that accredit conformity assessment bodies" in the Russian language and suggested sending comments, if any, to the Russian-language version of the standard to the Federal Service for Accreditation. The document was prepared by theConformity Assessment Committee (CASCO) of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). RusAccreditation is convinced that the position of the national bodies concerning the accuracy of translation of the standard is a must as it will allow all specialists in the CIS countries working later on in a single terminological paradigm. The participants of the meeting expressed their readiness to forward their comments and proposals on time.
