On February 9-10, 2017, representatives of the Federal Service for Accreditation visited Belarusian State Accreditation Center (BSAC). The Russian delegation was headed by Alexey Khersontsev, Head of RusAccreditation, and also included representatives of the FAE "National Institute of Accreditation". The work from the Belarusian side in the consultations was coordinated by Director of the Belarusian State Accreditation Center Tatiana Nikolaeva.
During the meetings, current tasks of bilateral cooperation and opportunities in the field of accreditation at the sites of the Eurasian Economic Union, the Interstate Council for Certification, Standardization and Metrology were discussed, an exchange of experiences was organized. For example, during the consultations held in the BSAC, some topics of mutual interest ware discussed in detail: cross-border accreditation, harmonization of processes and practices, development of new activities in the field of accreditation and establishment of effective interaction of national accreditation bodies concerning counteractions to the distribution of counterfeit products.
During the visit, a meeting with the Chairman of the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus, Viktor Nazarenko, was also held. The Heads of Departments discussed issues of adjusting the legislation of the Eurasian Economic Union, improving the effectiveness of monitoring activities for accredited persons, as well as interdepartmental exchange of information on violations of the legislation on conformity assessment.
Based on the results of the meetings and consultations, the parties pointed out the closeness and harmony of approaches to a wide range of issues discussed, including the establishment of multilateral regional cooperation in the Eurasian space and agreed to continue mutual cooperation and working contacts in the future.
