Dear colleagues!
World Metrology Day is a recognition of the results of professional activities of metrologists around the world. On May 20, 1875, representatives of 17 countries signed the Metric Convention. UNESCO noted the leading role of metrology in the development of the world economy, scientific and technological progress in all areas of human activity by establishing the professional holiday of metrologists on this day.
Metrology has played an important role in the progress of technology at all times – for each of the fields of science and technology, accurate measurements are one of the main ways of improvement. Therefore, metrology is developing at a pace that is ahead of other fields of activity.
All the aspects of life and activities of modern society - the development of health care, energy industry, trade, environmental protection, the integration of the latest high-tech technologies, improving defense capabilities - depend to a certain extent on the accuracy, unity and reliability of measurements.
Representatives of the metrological industry have done a significant contribution to the development of all sectors of the economy and spheres of life during the pandemic. According to the integration of innovative technologies, metrologists have provided science, economy and production with certified measuring instruments and equipment which are necessary for public health protection and harm prevention to lives of the citizens.
Congratulations to all specialists on the World Metrology Day!
Let your work continue to make a significant contribution to the development of the national economy, ensuring the security of the country, protecting life and health of the citizens.
